TENNIS SUPERSTARS SOON IN BANJALUKA!

Banja Luka will be at the center of the world tennis map from 16 – 23 April. Some of the biggest names in tennis, including the best tennis player in the world – Novak Djokovic, the tennis player who delighted the audience in Belgrade a year earlier – Gaël Monfils (FRA), as well as the former number three player in the world – Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI), confirmed their participation in this year’s ATP 250 tournament – Srpska Open. Negotiations with the winner of last year’s tournament in Belgrade – Andrey Rublev (RUS), as well as with Karen Khachanov (RUS) and Frances Tiafoe (USA), are in the final stage, as well.

The audience in Banja Luka will enjoy the tennis matches of the best Serbian players, as well, who are well-known to tennis fans in this area – Laslo DjereFilip Krajinovic, and Dusan Lajovic. 

” When we started preparing for this tournament, we had big ambitions. Now, a few months later, they are even bigger because we will host some of the most important names from the world of tennis, and at the same time give fans in the region the opportunity to watch world-class tennis from the front rows. We are happy that this April, once again, we will gather top tennis players in one place and that year after year we show that this tournament is becoming a tradition in our area“, said Djordje Djokovic, director of the Srpska Open tournament, on the press conference.

Within the national tennis center in the Mladen Stojanović park, on 9,000 m2, in addition to the central court, which can accommodate about 6,000 spectators, there will also be 2 more courts for matches where the audience will be able to enjoy the tennis spectacle, as well as 6 courts for practice, within which there will be the possibility of watching the practices.

The biggest fans of the white sport can find additional amusement in the FAN zone and the large village, which will offer a large number of fun content, souvenirs, and opportunities to socialize with tennis players.

“We are very proud that Banja Luka, after the Challenger that has been held here for more than 20 years, will now become the host of such an important tournament. For us, this represents a great honor, but also a responsibility, and we believe that we will meet all the expectations of the audience“, emphasized Drasko Milinovic, president of the Tennis Association of the Republic of Srpska.

Volunteers are an indispensable part of every tournament, and all those who want to be part of the Serbian Open 2023 organization, gain new experience, enjoy spectacular tennis matches, also get to know the players and assist them on and off the court, can apply for one of more than 300 volunteer positions HERE

Ticket sales will be available from the beginning of April, and there will be two types: a ticket for the Central court (which will allow access to all other match courts and the FAN zone, too). The second type of ticket will be a special ticket for the FAN zone, which will allow access to match courts 1 and 2, as well.

Tickets will be available online, as well as on-site during the tournament.
