We will remember the previous week at the Srpska Open in Banjaluka for tournament winner Dusan Lajovic, participation of world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, excellent organisation, even better matches, fantastic audience, busy reporters, hard-working volunteers and excellent hosts from Republika Srpska.
All records have been broken, although, according to tournament director Djordje Djokovic, many were sceptical regarding the organisation of the Srpska Open. However, the tournament has already been evaluated as highly successful.
The statistics is on our side. There were more than 7,000 spectators at the final of the Srpska Open and the image from Banjaluka was broadcast to Argentina, Australia, the U.S, China, South Korea, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Austria, Germany, Italy and Sweden and many more countries across the globe.
And the spectators were treated with the following:
– The longest match at the tournament was played between Laslo Djere and Borna Coric. The match lasted 196 minutes.
– Popyrin served most aces with 19 unreturnable serves in two matches whilst Rublev served 14 aces in four matches, followed by Lajovic with 13.
– Griekspoor was the player with most break points saved, with seven out of seven in only one match.
– Albot and Coria played the shortest match. It lasted 60 minutes.
The numbers are on our side, which is why we are looking forward to our next meeting at the same place and with the same team.
Banjaluka, thank you and until next time!!!
