We have only five days left before the start of the tennis spectacle in Banjaluka. Many tennis fans are eagerly waiting for the end of the week – the start of the first matches on clay courts of the Srpska Open tournament in Banjaluka. Preparations for the tournament have reached their final stage and the entire tennis complex will soon be ready to welcome both players and audience.
Once again, Srpska Open Director Đorđe Đoković confirmed that Banjaluka is the right choice of a location to gather both world and local tennis elite.
“Preparations for the tournament have entered their final stage. It was a real challenge to organise such a tournament in five months but we have succeeded with an enormous help of the City of Banjaluka and Republika Srpska. They have all backed this tournament and we are very grateful for their support to demonstrate to the ATP Tour that literally everything is possible with the right people and the right organisation”, Đoković explained.
We have faced numerous challenges in the preparations for the tournament, and also a responsibility to fulfil all the criteria and try to outdo previous tournaments in terms of organisation. The results achieved by the entire team will become obvious to all spectators as of Sunday.
“We have set the bar high, we are trying to make progress every year and we would like to offer the best to our players. That is why everything we do we try to do as best as possible. We have thus expanded the Fan Village in Banjaluka this year, now offering versatile activities and a big children playground. Having in mind that the Centre Court is a 6,000-seat tennis court, we wanted to provide access to the Fan Village to all. All visitors will have an opportunity to see the best tennis players in the world moving around in this zone. Maybe even see them practice”, Đoković added.
In just a couple of days, some of the leading tennis names such as Novak Đoković, Andrey Rublev, Gaël Monfils, Stanislas Wawrinka etc. will be playing tennis on the grounds of the national tennis centre in Mladen Stojanović Park. One thing is certain, from April 16-23, Banjaluka will host a truly global sports event.
