Miomir Kecmanovic played two matches during the day today. First he defeated Abdullah Shelbayh from
Jordan in singles with 6:4, 7:6 (7:4), and then he lost in doubles with Nikola Cacic. His next rival in the
singles competition will be Czech player Lehecka.
“I agreed to compete in the doubles competition because I’m friends with Nikola. To be honest, also
because I love to play in front of local audience. I’m glad to be in Banjaluka”, said Miomir Kecmanovic.
He also commented on the next match with Czech Jiri Lehecka.
"His tennis is good. I haven’t watched him today. We’ll see what happens tomorrow”.
Kecmanovic requested a medical time-out today but he says he’s fine now.
“I felt a bit of leg pain during the match but not anymore. We’ll see. I don’t think it’s serious.”
He also commented on court conditions.
“To be honest, it was difficult to play today. Matches are played in difficult conditions. You have to put a
lot of effort and work for every pint. But the most important thing is that I won”.
Miomir Kecmanovic’s coach is former Marin Cilic’s coach, Ivan Cinkus.
“We work well. We get along. I played two finals. I don’t know if it has anything to do with that but
everything advances at its own pace”.
The Serbian tennis player also said that they talk a lot.
“It’s true. The coach and I talk a lot outside the tennis court and it helps. We talk every day even when
he’s not here. I want us to succeed together and I’m grateful for his help”.
