He said it was the end but did not bid an actual farewell to tennis because champions don\u2019t do that. He left the door slightly open, enough to be seen and widely open to him by Srpska Open Director \u0110or\u0111e \u0110okovi\u0107 who invited Nenad Zimonji\u0107 to demonstrate to the citizens of Banjaluka why he was a member of the world’s number one doubles team for 50 weeks.<\/p>\n

Zimonji\u0107 officially embarked on his path to stardom in 1995 and added his name to the history of tennis at the Australian Open in 2004. Elena Bovina and Nenad Zimonji\u0107 defeated defending champions Martina Navratilova and Leander Paes in two sets (6:1, 7:6) to win the Australian Open mixed doubles title. He continued his tennis career with several back-to-back successes with his triumph at Wimbledon in 2008 and 2009 in men’s doubles partnering Canadian player Daniel Nestor, Roland-Garros in 2010,\u00a0 the 2008 and 2010 ATP Tour Finals, as well as numerous titles at, so to speak, smaller tournaments.<\/p>\n

Nenad Zimonji\u0107<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

The name of the best Serbian doubles team player is written in gold letters in the history of tennis when he won the mixed doubles with Katarina Srebotnik and the doubles with Daniel Nestor at Roland-Garros in 2010. Zimonji\u0107 has thus become the only tennis player in history, in addition to Mike Bryan, to win the double crown.<\/p>\n

Besides the abovementioned title in mixed doubles with the Slovenian tennis player in 2010, Zimonji\u0107 also won the Australian Open in 2004 and 2008, Roland-Garros in 2006 and Wimbledon in 2014.<\/p>\n

As a record-holder according to the number of matches and wins for the Serbian national team in doubles, Zimonji\u0107 thrilled the nation as a member of the national team, together with Novak \u0110okovi\u0107, Janko Tipsarevi\u0107 and Viktor Troicki, who won the Davis Cup title in 2010. In 2009, Zimonji\u0107 won the\u00a0 World Team Cup in D\u00fcsseldorf when the Serbian national team.<\/p>\n
